Sri Lanka, Jan. 26 -- Defending league rugby champions Kandy SC who finished the first round of the Nippon Paint league rugby tournament with six wins in seven games are placed number two and are sure to come off with a good performance in the second round, in the first round they won matches against Police SC, Navy SC. Air Force SC. Army SC, CH & FC, Havelock SC and lost only to CR and FC at Nittawela, in which game CR & FC played a fine game to win. by 38 -26.
Kandy SC ended as the second best team in the first round. They played well in patches and will need to take stock of themselves and rectify their shortcomings if they are to have any hopes of retaining the cup which at the moment is firmly locked up in Kandy.
