Sri Lanka, Feb. 3 -- Thirty two-year old woman of Kamburupitiya was attacked and murdered with a metal flower pot and a knife on January 31, Kamburupitiya Police stated.

The deceased woman's elder brother, a businessman, has been arrested by the Kamburupitiya Police on suspicion of the murder. The victim Ayesha Nishamani is a teacher at the Dikwella Vijitha Central College.

The Police also believe a family dispute that escalated may have led to the attack.

A letter written by the suspect's mother to the suspect's son and the Police, accusing her son for the murder, was left on the table in the living room of the house where the deceased had fallen.
