Srilanka, March 27 -- A bribery case filed against former MP Johnston Fernando and two others for allegedly causing an unlawful loss of approximately Rs. 11 million to the government, by taking away employees of the Cooperative Wholesale Establishment (CWE) from their official duties to engage in political activities, was yesterday fixed for further trial on June 23 by the Colombo High Court.
The case was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Navaratne Marasinghe.
The case was filed against former Minister Johnston Fernando when he was acting as the Trade Minister, former CWE (Lak Sathosa) Chairman Eraj Fernando and former Minister's Private Secretary Raj Mohideen Mohammad Zakeer for allegedly causing an Rs.11 million loss to the go...
