Sri Lanka, June 23 -- The case filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) against former Minister Johnston Fernando and three others was taken up again before the Colombo High Court today (23).
The charges stem from allegations that, between 2010 and 2014, during the presidency of Mahinda Rajapaksa, the accused misused public resources by deploying Lanka Sathosa employees for political activities, causing financial losses to the government.
The case was heard by High Court Judge Lanka Jayaratne. During proceedings, A.M. Wijeratne, who served as the former minister's Coordinating Officer, was cross-examined by the defence.
