Sri Lanka, Dec. 24 -- The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) assists to upgrade the livelihood of small-scale entrepreneurs in North Central Province by increasing their production capacity and quality of production. A programme was launched recently at Anuradhapura for distributing various types of advanced manufacturing equipment used in drying, crushing and grinding cereals, grains, etc. among 20 small-scale industrialists including those engaged in processing spices, coconut husks and coconut shells and fibre, bites manufacturing, sour plantations cultivation industry at Rajangane. It was revealed that the aid recipients are engaged in export-oriented products and only 20 percent of the produce is marketed locally.
