Sri Lanka, Oct. 29 -- Sri Lanka's fastest junior butterfly swimmer, Jayden de Silva, won the men's 50m butterfly heat number two of six with a personal best performance on the second day of swimming at the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Manama, Bahrain, yesterday.

De Silva clocked 27.10 seconds to win the heat, improving on his previous best of 27.13. Palestine's Adnanfaras Abusalem finished second in 27.25, while Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Ali Albusaeed came third in 27.50.

Another Sri Lankan swimmer also set a new personal best. Fifteen-year-old Julie Hope, the youngest member of Sri Lanka's nine-strong squad, finished sixth in heat three of the women's 50m backstroke, clocking 31.66 seconds, bettering her previous best of 32.12.
