Sri Lanka, July 14 -- The Government of Japan has provided Euro269 million (approximately Rs.457 million) to facilitate a third batch of students for Master's Degrees and PhD programmes under the Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resources Development Scholarship (JDS) programme's 'Third Framework'.

The JDS programme was introduced in Sri Lanka in 2010 by the Government of Japan, in order to provide opportunities to executive-level public sector officials to undergo Master's Degree programmes in prominent universities in Japan, the Finance Ministry stated in a press release.

Accordingly, the 'First Framework' (from 2010 to 2013) and 'Second Framework' (from 2014 to 2017) of this programme, were completed in 2013 and 2017, respectively. The p...
