Sri Lanka, April 11 -- The Japanese Government and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) have provided support aimed at reducing preventable risks faced by women during pregnancy and childbirth, in a move to improve maternal and reproductive health services in Sri Lanka.
Health and Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa highlighted that the Health Ministry has already launched a special initiative to enhance the effectiveness and quality of maternal and reproductive health services countrywide. This effort is expected to ensure that no woman is exposed to unnecessary risks during pregnancy or delivery.
