Sri Lanka, April 11 -- The temporary suspension on recruiting Sri Lankan workers for agricultural jobs in Israel has been lifted, with the latest batch of workers selected to depart later this month.
Officials from Israel's Ministry of Agriculture and the Population and Immigration Authority (PIBA) recently visited Sri Lanka and selected 95 qualified candidates through physical fitness and other assessments. Air tickets were officially presented to 12 of these workers during a ceremony held at the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau on April 10, under the patronage of Bureau Chairman Kosala Wickramasinghe.
