Sri Lanka, March 3 -- As part of the government's 'Clean Sri Lanka' national programme, a large-scale school renovation project was launched on 20th February 2025, with the active involvement of the Sri Lanka Army.

Under the directives of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, approximately 9,000 Army personnel have contributed their expertise and manpower to the initiative. By 2nd March 2025, 185 schools across the island had been successfully cleaned and renovated.

The project focuses on repairing damaged boundary fences, refurbishing roofs, fixing broken desks and chairs, and conducting extensive cleaning efforts. The Sri Lanka Army has also received invaluable support from school teachers,...
