Sri Lanka, Oct. 3 -- Iran's Ambassador in Colombo, Dr.Alireza Delkhosh, criticized the United States and three European nations yesterday for their efforts to implement the snapback mechanism, arguing that the division within the UN Security Council regarding this matter underscores a lack of legality and legitimacy.
He pointed out that six out of the 15 UNSC members did not endorse the re-imposition of previously terminated resolutions. Ambassador Delkhosh added that any efforts by European nations or the United States to reinstate these terminated sanctions are null and void. "International law is a toy at the hands of United States", he said.
