Sri Lanka, Dec. 10 -- The National Movement for Social Justice (NMSJ) stresses the urgent need to develop a long-term programme for Disaster Management, built on proper planning and informed by the major disasters, including the Tsunami, that Sri Lanka has faced over the past few decades.
Across the world, a number of international organisations, with substantial funding, work on Climate Change-related issues. Many Sri Lankan Scholars hold leading roles in these institutions, and only a few countries have been able to secure financial and technical assistance through them.
