Srilanka, March 6 -- The Health Ministry under the guidance of Health and Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa has launched an initiative to identify and address shortcomings in the hospital network to strengthen the public healthcare system. This programme aims to provide high-quality and well-structured healthcare services, especially to rural communities.

As part of this initiative, Health Services Director General Dr. Asela Gunawardena visited the Batticaloa Teaching Hospital recently, the only teaching hospital in the Eastern Province to assess its current operational status and patient care services.
