Sri Lanka, Feb. 2 -- The Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, Sunil Handunnetti, conducted a field inspection yesterday (02) at the Kotikambokka Vein Quartz Deposit in the Monaragala District, where mining activities are currently suspended. The visit focused on safeguarding the site and preventing unauthorized mining. Preliminary scientific surveys indicate that the deposit spans approximately 700 meters and contains an estimated 3.1 billion metric tons of quartz, highlighting its significance as a national resource.
