Sri Lanka, Jan. 13 -- A group of Indian fishermen engaged in illegal fishing in Sri Lankan waters were arrested by the Sri Lanka Navy off the coast of Delft Island this morning (13).
According to reports, the fishermen had sailed from the Rameshwaram Fisheries Harbour in India.
The fishing vessel used during the operation was seized and brought to the Karainagar Naval Base for further investigations.
The arrested fishermen and the vessel are to be handed over to the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources for onward legal action.
