SriLanka, Feb. 7 -- Sri Lanka has welcomed more than 317,000 foreign tourists so far this year, according to figures released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
The authority reported that 317,381 visitors arrived in the country between January 1 and February 4, reflecting a strong start to the tourism sector in 2026.
India remained the leading source market, contributing 57,348 visitors during this period. The United Kingdom followed with 34,724 arrivals, while Russia recorded 30,951 tourists. Germany and China also remained key markets, accounting for 20,272 and 16,315 arrivals respectively.
Tourist inflows were also notable from countries including France, Australia and the Netherlands, the SLTDA said.
