Sri Lanka, April 5 -- A joint press conference and official state ceremony between India and Sri Lanka are currently underway at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo. The event marks the signing and exchange of several key bilateral agreements, including a Memorandum of Understanding on energy import and export, as well as defense cooperation.
In a significant development, the construction of the long-awaited Sampur Power Plant was officially inaugurated under the patronage of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, symbolizing a major step forward in regional energy collaboration.
