Sri Lanka, Dec. 2 -- India has granted rapid airspace clearance for Pakistan's humanitarian aid flight carrying relief material to cyclone-affected Sri Lanka, Indian officials confirmed on Monday. According to officials, Pakistan submitted the overflight request at around 1300 hrs (IST) seeking same-day permission. In view of the humanitarian nature of the mission, India processed the request promptly and granted approval within four hours. The formal clearance was communicated to the Government of Pakistan at 1730 hrs (IST) the same day.
