Sri Lanka, Nov. 14 -- Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne today called on Members of Parliament to avoid personal attacks, improper forms of address, and baseless allegations during sessions. He emphasized that such behaviour undermines the dignity of the House.

Meanwhile, a confrontation unfolded in Parliament involving MP Sujeewa Senasinghe and female MPs Lakmali Hemachandra and Hiruni Wijesinghe over remarks made during an earlier sitting.

MP Senasinghe said, "MP Lakmali Hemachandra made a false accusation against me, claiming I insulted MP Hiruni Wijesinghe. I never mentioned any name in my earlier comment."
