Sri Lanka, Feb. 3 -- We are set to celebrate our 77th Independence Day tomorrow. This year marks a turning point with a new President and a new Government at the helm. The key difference between the past 76 years and the next five-year period kicked off on September 21, 2024. The difference is a striking point. Various political parties and their leaders held the reins of power for decades while the people played the role of spectators. The tide turned on September 21 and continued through November 14, The people govern themselves through their own President and their own Government.
