Srilanka, April 2 -- Ceylon Teachers' Union General Secretary Joseph Stalin pointed out that over 100 teachers assigned to leading schools across the country have refused to comply with official transfer orders issued by the Education Ministry Secretary.
He stated that some of these teachers have remained at the same prominent schools for over 10 years.
"Teachers cannot remain in their current posts once official transfer orders have been issued by the Education Secretary.
These orders must be implemented without delay," Stalin emphasised. He also alleged that certain teachers are using political or other influence to avoid being transferred and are deliberately remaining in their schools.
