Srilanka, Feb. 20 -- National People's Power (NPP) Parliamentarian Nilanthi Kottahachchi yesterday refuted media reports alleging that her party had instructed her to refrain from making statements to the media. Raising the issue as a matter of privilege in Parliament, she clarified that she had not been forcibly prevented from speaking to the press.
MP Kottahachchi emphasized that the dissemination of such false information had violated her parliamentary privileges and called for an investigation into the matter. She urged the Privileges Committee to take necessary action to address the issue.
