Sri Lanka, Feb. 20 -- A resident of Girandurukotte has won Rs. 629,855,919.60, the largest cash prize in Sri Lanka's lottery history, the Development Lotteries Board (DLB) announced.Sri Lanka Travel Guide

The record-breaking payout came in the latest draw of the 'Kapruka' lottery, operated and marketed by the DLB. The winning ticket was sold by Rathnasiri Soysa, a lottery agent in Girandurukotte.

The prize now stands as the highest single lottery payout ever recorded in the country, surpassing the previous record of over Rs. 620 million.
