Sri Lanka, Oct. 31 -- Sri Lanka Customs has achieved a historic milestone, collecting over two trillion rupees in tax revenue for the year, marking a new high in the country's economic history.
The announcement was made yesterday (30), highlighting the highest revenue ever recorded by a state revenue collection department in a single year.
In a press release, Sri Lanka Customs confirmed that it is on track to meet the annual revenue target of 2.115 trillion rupees for 2025.
The department noted that automobile imports alone contributed 630 billion rupees to this record-breaking figure.
