Srilanka, June 30 -- For nearly a decade, residents of Achiriyagama village, located in the Musnawa Grama Niladhari Division (No. 473) under the Galnewa Divisional Secretariat, have awaited land permits. A recent investigation by the Divisional Secretary aimed at issuing these permits took a turn after archaeological concerns emerged.
The Grama Niladhari of the area informed authorities that the lands in question contain scattered rock fragments suspected to be of archaeological value. Following this, the Divisional Secretary requested the Department of Archaeology to inspect the site and provide guidance.
