Srilanka, April 19 -- Heavy traffic congestion occurred on the Southern Expressway when a lorry transporting lentil overturned due to the detachment of its rear wheel at the 17th kilometer post between Gelanigama and Dodangoda interchanges yesterday evening. Police said that traffic congestion in extent of over four kilometers occurred following the accident.
The officials of Southern Expressway and the police managed to clear a lane for traffic travelling from Colombo to Matara. Initial investigations said that the lorry was overloaded beyond its capacity and the rear wheels were found 100 meters away from the place where the accident occurred.
