Sri Lanka, Dec. 5 -- The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning for heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces as well as Galle and Matara districts today (05).

The public is advised to take necessary precautions to reduce the risk of lightning strikes and stay alert for temporary strong winds during the thunderstorms.
