Srilanka, March 18 -- The Association of Health Professionals (AHP) has announced a 24-hour token strike commencing at 7.00 am today (18), following unsuccessful discussions with the authorities regarding salary issues, according to the association's convener Ravi Kumudesh.

Speaking to the media yesterday (17) following discussions with the Finance Ministry, Kumudesh voiced his disappointment, stating that despite efforts to address the issue technically, the Finance Ministry has imposed impractical solutions. He emphasised that the strike will conclude in 24 hours, after which all emergency and essential services will continue uninterrupted.
