Srilanka, March 25 -- The Ministry of Health has announced a three-day dengue control program in response to concerns over a potential rise in cases due to ongoing intermittent rains.

Despite a 43.4% decrease in dengue cases compared to the same period in 2024, 10,886 cases have already been reported since January 1. Health authorities warn that changing weather conditions could lead to a resurgence of infections.

To mitigate the risk, the National Dengue Control Unit will conduct a special dengue control field program from March 27 to 29 across 37 high-risk Medical Officer divisions, including Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, Matara, Matale, Batticaloa, Ratnapura, and Trincomalee.
