Srilanka, June 12 -- The Epidemiology Division of the Ministry of Health has reported a concerning increase in rat fever cases across Sri Lanka.

According to Community Health Specialist Dr. Thushani Dabarera, the highest number of cases is currently being reported from the districts of Ratnapura, Kurunegala, Kegalle, Gampaha, and Kalutara.

Dr. Dabarera shared these updates during a media briefing held at the Health Promotion Bureau, urging the public to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the disease.

Health officials continue to emphasize the importance of eliminating mosquito breeding grounds and seeking early medical attention in the event of symptoms.
