Sri Lanka, March 24 -- The Hambantota International Port has taken a significant step toward marine conservation by initiating efforts to protect its naturally formed coral reef colony along the breakwater.

This marks the first time a Sri Lankan port has undertaken such an initiative, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable environmental practices.

Chief Executive Officer Wilson Kwo stated that the port management is dedicated to preserving this valuable marine ecosystem as part of its broader environmental conservation efforts.
