Sri Lanka, Aug. 29 -- The national selection panel headed by Upul Tharanga has named a 17-member squad for the T20 series against Zimbabwe, with 20-year-old Vishen Halambage earning his maiden call-up. The former St. Peter's College skipper, now playing for Panadura SC, is known for his explosive batting at the top of the order and has caught the selectors' eye with standout performances in recent white-ball domestic tournaments.
Halambage, a dashing right-hander, was named Player of the Tournament in the recent Major Club T20 tournament and continued his form in the SLC T20 League, where he opened for SLC Blues.
