Srilanka, Feb. 20 -- The revolver used to kill organized crime leader Ganemulle Sanjeewa, also known as Sanjeewa Kumara Samararatne, inside the No. 5 Magistrate's Court Chamber at the Aluthkade Court Complex this morning (19) was reportedly smuggled into the premises hidden inside a book.

Police confirmed that the shooting was carried out by an individual disguised as a lawyer. The firearm was later recovered within the court premises, and security forces also discovered the book used to conceal it in the lawyer's consultation room.

Ganemulla Sanjeewa had been transported from Boossa Prison for a legal proceeding when he was shot. In response, security has been significantly heightened, and a special search operation is underway at the...
