Sri Lanka, Jan. 20 -- The Cabinet of Ministers approved proposals made by the Power and Tourism Ministers to provide relief for electricity consumers affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Co-Cabinet Spokesman Mass Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said.

Addressing the media to inform the decisions taken at this week's Cabinet meeting he said the Cabinet of Ministers has granted a six months grace period from the date of the bill and avoid interruption of electricity connection for the domestic, commercial and industrial electricity consumers within the areas isolated for more than 14 days continuously in order to settle the electricity bills pertaining to the specified period.
