Sri Lanka, Aug. 30 -- Justice and National Integration Minister Harsha Nanayakkara announced yesterday (29) that investigations will be reopened into more than 10,000 complaints of enforced disappearances reported in the North and South before the year 2000.
Speaking at an event organized by the Office on Missing Persons (OMP) at Temple Trees to mark the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, the Minister emphasized that enforced disappearances were not isolated incidents but crimes that violated the fundamental rights of life, family unity, and dignity.
