Sri Lanka, Oct. 10 -- The government will allocate more funds next year to strengthen mental health and counseling services, Deputy Minister of Health and Mass Media Dr. Hansaka Wijemuni said. He emphasized that mental health first aid should be given the same priority as other emergency treatments during disasters and calamities.

World Mental Health Day, observed annually on October 10, was marked on 08th at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute Auditorium under the guidance of Health Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, with Deputy Minister Dr. Wijemuni and Director General of Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardena in attendance.
