Srilanka, March 27 -- Agriculture, Irrigation, Livestock, and Lands Minister K.D. Lalkantha said that the Government is preparing to implement a wildlife management programme, an area on which national attention has not been focused so far.
Speaking to the media following the Kandy District Coordination Committee meeting yesterday (26), the Minister stressed the importance of accurate data gathered through a national animal census to lay the foundation for a structured wildlife management plan.
