Sri Lanka, Sept. 9 -- The government has taken steps to construct a new grid substation in Sampur, which can be considered as a renewable energy transmission hub in the eastern regions.

The foundation stone for the construction of a new grid substation in Sampur was recently laid in order to enhance the reliability and stability of the national electricity grid by developing and strengthening the energy transmission system, especially in the eastern regions of the island, where the renewable energy potential is very high.
