Sri Lanka, Sept. 16 -- The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal to conduct a detailed feasibility study on minimizing traffic congestion at the Lotus Roundabout and its surrounding areas in Colombo.

The Lotus Roundabout has become a major traffic bottleneck, especially during peak hours, affecting the wider urban transport network. Officials note that congestion is expected to worsen with the completion of the Colombo Port City, the Port Access Road, and other major development projects currently underway in the capital.
