Srilanka, April 7 -- The Sri Lankan Government has taken assertive steps to address the challenges arising from the recent tariff implementation by the United States, which imposes a 44% tariff on Sri Lanka due to its 88% trade deficit ratio.

Labour Minister Dr.Anil Jayantha Fernando, highlighted that a high-level technical committee, composed of both private and public sector representatives, has been established to analyse the impact and propose actionable solutions. This committee has been actively convening on a daily basis and has partnered with experts, including those from the Kadirgamar Institute, to develop strategies aimed at mitigating the effects on Sri Lanka's key export sectors, such as apparel, plastics, rubber, food proc...
