Srilanka, March 18 -- Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath informed Parliament, making a special statement, that a contributory pension scheme has already been introduced for workers in the tourism sector in Sri Lanka and for Sri Lankan migrant workers employed abroad.
The Minister said that the pension scheme has already begun for the relevant groups and steps will be taken to introduce this to the people in both these fields through stronger awareness campaigns. Minister Herath was speaking during the 2025 Appropriation Bill Committee Stage Budget debate, on Saturday (15).
