Sri Lanka, July 2 -- The Cabinet has approved the proposal to present the 2026 Appropriation Bill to Parliament in October 2025, with the second reading and budget speech scheduled for November, followed by the third reading and budget debate in November and December.
The 2026 national budget will be formulated under the policy vision 'Rich Country - Beautiful Country', and aligned with both the Public Financial Framework and the National Policy Framework 2026-2030. This year's budget theme emphasizes building a "Production Economy" and mobilizing collective contributions toward economic development.
