Sri Lanka, Sept. 18 -- Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya yesterday said that the Sobhadanavi power plant adds another 350 MW to the national grid.

She said the world is undergoing a "transformative era" in the energy sector, adapting to constantly changing consumer needs and regulations with a focus on sustainability and innovation. However, she noted that despite global trends, Sri Lanka remains one of the countries in the region with the highest electricity tariffs.
