Srilanka, March 5 -- The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ruwan Chaminda Ranasinghe, announced that a contributory pension scheme will be introduced this year for those engaged in the tourism sector.
Responding to a query by MP Hesha Withanage in Parliament today (05), the Deputy Minister also revealed plans for a social welfare program for tourism sector workers.
Additionally, he stated that 100 tourist attractions are being identified for future development, with Rs. 10 million allocated per site for infrastructure improvements. The government also plans to construct Rest Centers for tourists to enhance visitor experience.
