Srilanka, March 25 -- The government has decided to revise the per-unit price paid for electricity generated by rooftop solar panels.

The Ministry of Energy stated that a cabinet paper proposing the revisions has been submitted based on recommendations from the Electricity Board.

Under the new pricing structure, the current rate of Rs. 27 per unit will be reduced, with payments adjusted based on the system's capacity:

Rs. 19 per unit for solar systems generating less than 20 kilowatts. Rs. 17 per unit for systems generating 20-100 kilowatts. Rs. 15 per unit for systems generating 100-500 kilowatts.
