Sri Lanka, July 18 -- The Chairman of the Paddy Marketing Board, Manjula Pinnalanda, stated that the government has purchased 1,238 metric tons of paddy since the commencement of paddy collection for the 2025 Yala season.
He explained that this year's harvest is being received in a scattered manner, with initial harvesting starting in Ampara. Warehouses have already been opened in the Northern Province, Puttalam, and Mullaitivu, and farmers in those areas have begun supplying paddy.
