Sri Lanka, Dec. 20 -- The Government Analyst's Department has stated that there is no confirmation that former Speaker of Parliament Ashoka Ranwala was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the car accident involving him.

According to the department, laboratory tests carried out on blood and urine samples did not indicate the presence of alcohol, and therefore alcohol consumption could not be confirmed.
