Sri Lanka, Dec. 10 -- Google Maps has begun updating information on approximately 12,000 kilometres of Sri Lanka's road network, Minister of Transport Bimal Ratnayake announced.
The updates will cover A, B, and C-class roads and introduce six types of condition alerts, including lane closures and construction notices, aimed at helping travelers plan their journeys more efficiently.
In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), Minister Ratnayake said the new feature is expected to reduce travel delays, improve route planning, and minimize unexpected congestion for road users.
