Sri Lanka, Oct. 31 -- Kandy's Fathima Shafiya Yamick a product of Vihara Maha Devi Girls College has made the historic city of Kandy and the country proud by winning three Gold Medals in the recently concluded South Asian game's in India with a record breaking performance, A welcoming ceremony was held on Tuesday in Katukele, Kandy, the hometown of this athlete Shafiya Yamick

She has won three Gold Medals at the South Asian Games in India.Shafiya Yamick, along with her coach M. P. Vithana, came back to Katukele where she lives and received a warm welcome from the residents. She was thankful for the support given by Ministry of Sports, the Army, her school Vihara Maha Devi Balika, her coach, supporters and parents.
