Sri Lanka, Oct. 16 -- Gold prices in Sri Lanka have seen a significant rise, mirroring increases in the global gold market.

Market data indicates that as of today (16), gold prices have surged by Rs. 60,000 compared to last Thursday.

At the Colombo Sea Street Gold Market this morning, the price of a pound of 22-carat gold increased by Rs. 10,000, bringing the new rate to Rs. 360,800 per pound. Meanwhile, the price of a pound of 24-carat gold has risen to Rs. 390,000.
